Join the discussion in Europe’s first brewing forum
The Brewers of Europe is to hold its first-ever international forum. The Brewers Forum, held in Brussels 7-8 June 2018, will bring together the European brewing sector for two days of discussion, debate and meetings about the future beer.
"As the brewing sector continues to expand, invest and undergo a renaissance, we wanted to host a major event that welcomes everyone from the entire European beer sector" , says Pierre-Olivier Bergeron, Secretary General of The Brewers of Europe.
He urges national association members to attend and to extend an invitation widely. "We want this event to bring together major global brewers, international and national medium-sized companies, as well as smaller brewers for the first time. We want this event to help to establish a real community within the brewing sector in Europe."
Up to 1,500 people could attend the two-day summit, organised by BeComev at The Square in Brussels. Major speakers already booked include Mikkel Borg Bjergsø, founder, Mikkeler; Christina Schönberger, manager and technical sales, Hops Academy; Susanne Hecht, National and international sales director from Schneider Weisse and Tim Webb, beer writer.
Topics for discussion include marketing, regulation, responsibility, sustainability and new trends in beer and brewing. Over 35 seminars are planned, including a Trends in Filtration symposium led by the EBC, the Brewers of Europe’s technical and scientific arm. The event will feature up to 60 exhibitors as well as technical and tasting booths.
"We think every part of the European brewing sector can gain by coming together under the same roof" , says Pierre-Olivier Bergeron. "We all have so much to learn from each other. The experience and knowledge of the major international brewers could be very helpful to smaller brewers wanting to scale up while retaining quality and consistency. The event will offer everyone technical, marketing and branding expertise, and how to navigate an ever-increasing set of regulations. But most of all it will bring us together. A truly unified brewing sector."
